Abstract

The high intensity of Urban Heat Island, significant carbon pollution, logistics traffic congestion, limited green space, and poor water and waste management constitute the main problems in industrial areas. To address these challenges, this study proposes the integration of three Islamic theo-ecological pillars—khalifah, mizan, and falah—in the development of a Green Industrial Ecosystem at Surya Cipta City of Industry. Khalifah reflects humanity’s trusteeship to responsibly prosper the earth, realized through industrial symbiosis among tenants, an integrated waste management center, water recycling, and rainwater harvesting. Mizan emphasizes ecological harmony and justice, applied through green infrastructure (RTI, bioswales, retention ponds), rooftop solar panels, and low-carbon transportation systems such as bicycle paths, pedestrian walkways, and electric shuttle buses. Meanwhile, falah, as the achievement of holistic success encompassing material, spiritual, and social aspects, is implemented through the provision of public spaces, worker relaxation facilities, and inclusive connectivity with the surrounding community. By integrating the green corridor, circular economy, and environmentally friendly mobility within the khalifah-mizan-falah framework, this area is expected not only to reduce carbon emissions and environmental degradation but also to create a just, productive, and sustainable industrial ecosystem—ensuring that the prosperity of the earth as a sacred trust goes hand in hand with the realization of comprehensive falah for all stakeholders.
