Corn post-harvest machines require scheduled maintenance to stay reliable, yet the “Tani Manunggal” Farmer Group in Sialang Rampai Village, Kulim District, Pekanbaru, usually repairs its machines only after they break down. This community service program aimed to develop a self-maintenance guide and to train group members in maintaining the corn sheller and the multipurpose thresher. The activities consisted of preparation, field observation of the machines, guide development, training (lecture, demonstration, hands-on practice, and discussion), and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests involving 10 participants. The guide follows seven steps (inspect, clean, lubricate, tighten, adjust, test, and record) and is supported by a pocket book, a checklist, and a maintenance logbook. The mean score across eight competency indicators increased from 2.11 to 4.59 on a five-point scale. The self-maintenance approach proved suitable for strengthening operators’ ability to perform basic inspection and maintenance, identify simple faults, and apply work safety procedures. Productivity gains are still an expectation and will be monitored in the next stage.
